Dr Brian Patrick Coghlan
Brian passed away peacefully on Sunday, 29th June, 2025, at Stepping Hill Hospital after a short illness. He was the much-loved husband of Anne; devoted father to Michael, James, Brian Thomas, Anne Clare, Johnny, and Mary; and grandfather to 16 beloved grandchildren.
Brian was a highly respected GP, looking after patients in Woodley for 40 years. A devoted squash player and fan of Manchester City, he was also a committed Catholic attending mass at St Vincent’s church twice each week. He treated his family and many friends with complete generosity, humour, kindness, and love.
For those who would like to, you are very welcome to join us celebrating Brian’s life on Thursday, 17th July, 2025. The Requiem Mass will take place at 12.15pm at St Vincent’s Church, 2 Bentinck Road, Altrincham, WA14 2BP. This will be followed by a committal at Dunham Lawn Cemetery, Dunham Massey, and a celebration at The Griffin, Stamford Road, Bowdon WA14 2TP (1.30pm onwards for those not attending the committal).
