Nic passes her ABC Level 4 Counselling Concepts Diploma
Huge congratulations to Nic Thornton, Independent Funeral Director at Full Circle Funerals in Bramley, for successfully completing her Level 4 Counselling Concept Diploma.
She studied part-time alongside her role at Full Circle and was inspired by a desire to support others through loss.
Nic had volunteered for The Samaritans for 6 years when she decided to embark on the course. During her counselling training she completed a 2-year placement at Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice, as well as working with us part-time.
Her counselling training included learning how to practise active listening and be empathic and understanding.
Nic said: “I wanted to take a different direction in life and the course have helped me gain the professional skills to support people.
“Although I originally wanted to work as a counsellor, the role of Funeral Director has always appealed to me and I am looking forward to continuing in this role now that I have completed the course.
“Everything I’ve learnt will help me support the individuals and families I work with in my job as a Funeral Director.”
We are thrilled at Nic’s well-deserved success and are delighted that she will be sharing her skills with us as she continues in her role as a Full Circle Funeral Director. Well done Nic!
