Creative Writing Workshops in Ilkley

A series of free workshops is being planned in Ilkley for those experiencing grief and loss who are interesting in exploring the wellbeing benefits of creative writing.

The creative writing circle is being organised by us as part of our community engagement programme and will be led by Stephen Mckenzie, writer, educator and celebrant.

Stephen was a secondary school teacher of English, Literature and Drama for over 30 years and has also done a great deal of work teaching adults how to be teachers, writers and sometimes both. 

There are many ways we might choose to write about people we have lost and these sessions will explore how we might use any form of text or writing to remember and celebrate our loved ones.

Stephen’s creative writing workshops have been received really well in Knaresborough, where we have run two successful writing circles, and we are delighted to have the support of All Saints Church in Ilkley which will host five free sessions starting in February.
