A ‘Thinking of You’ Community Postbox to provide comfort in grief
A new community postbox has arrived at Full Circle Funerals in Guiseley which hopes to provide support to people who are grieving.
The Thinking of You postbox will collect letters people write to those who are no longer physically with them but are still in their life and thoughts.
The letters will not be opened and don’t need a stamp. They will be collected regularly and either composted to help the plants in the local Season Well community garden grow or occasionally used as fuel to heat a seasonal drink for a toast to those we love.
The postbox is available to anyone who wants to maintain a connection with someone who has died or is missing, as a way of moving forward with loss.
The initiative is a collaboration between Heather Cooper of Good Grief Guiseley, Full Circle Funerals and Season Well, which runs the new community garden at Full Circle Funerals. It was inspired by Heather and local resident Kate Norris in memory of her friend and mum.
Everyone is welcome to post their letters and if you have any questions please get in touch with [email protected] or Heather at [email protected]
