We’re looking for a Funeral Facilitator/Director to join our new service just opened in Halifax. The role is full time with a share of an on-call rota.

Bradford Bereavement Support want everyone that may need then to know that they are still open and taking referrals and clients. Here is a short message from them:
The whole team (office, volunteer counsellors, supervisors and trustee board) have made the adaptations to work from home, offer telephone and video conferencing counselling. Whilst we can’t offer face-to-face counselling at the moment, we are still very much open and want the let the residents of Bradford know that all they need to do is ring our number and they will be offered an assessment and then following that 12 week free bereavement and grief counselling.

We’re delighted that we have a new member of staff join us in a brand new role. Helen will be working at our Head Office with Sarah, Jade and Lucy as our Business Administration apprentice.

Making Pebble Memory Jars
Ruth, one of our Guiseley Funeral Directors has created another video to share ideas to support children in the development of continuing bonds after someone has died.
This video shows you how to make a pebble memory jar and you will also find some written instructions on the Continuing Bonds page on our website.
Pebble decorating has become really popular over the last few years and during lock down so this is something that many children will already feel very familiar with.

Team Full Circle welcomes two new funeral directors
We are very excited to introduce the two newest members of the Full Circle team. Nicola will be working in Harrogate and Pete will be based in our newest service in Halifax.

Full Circle Funerals opens new service in Halifax
We are delighted to announce that our new service in Halifax opened on Monday 15th June 2020. We are so grateful to everyone who worked so hard to make it happen, despite lock-down and the unusual times we find ourselves in!

Full Circle lock-down charity quiz series
We are so very aware of the invaluable services that hospices provide to their communities. Lock-down has been a particularly challenging time for all charities and we are very keen to support our local hospices in any way we can.
Quiz-master Dave has set up a series of five Facebook Live quizzes and we are encouraging people to take part at 11am every Thursday – all you need to do is to make a small donation to the hospice of that week.
Bereavement Support Group moves online
To support people to socially distance and stay safe during the Coronavirus pandemic, we have moved our monthly bereavement support group online.
It will still take place on the first Wednesday of every month and everyone is welcome, whether you have used our services or not. For more information take a look at our Bereavement Support Group page or keep an eye on our Facebook page.

Sarah from Full Circle was interviewed on Look North to share the funeral choices that are available to people during the pandemic. It was great to have the opportunity to share what is possible in the hope that it will help people.

Good Grief Guiseley is cancelled
Due to everything going on at the minute the Good Grief Guiseley event which was due to take place on 20th March has been cancelled. The normal schedule will (hopefully) return soon.
In the meantime, everyone stay safe and protect those that are more vulnerable.

Andrew recently won an industry award for being ‘The Most Promising Trainee’ funeral director. Andrew has just finished his traineeship with us and has become an invaluable member of the team.

We had such a wonderful time at our open day on Friday. It was good to be able to meet so many of you – thank you for coming to meet us!

We are looking for two new funeral facilitators / directors – one will be based in Harrogate and one in Guiseley. Previous experience in health, social or pastoral is desirable but applicants do not need to have worked within funeral-care directly.

Help The Hospice raises £2,306 for Sue Ryder, Manorlands.
Full Circle News Update: A massive thank-you to our friends at CrossFit, Skipton who worked with Dave and Aireborough Rotary to raise this amazing sum of money in their first ever Help the Hospice competition in April. It was an amazing event, which they hope to run again next year and at other CrossFit gyms in the area, thereby supporting other local hospices. Well done Dave and the team !!!
A Spring Night to Remember – Remembrance service, 17th May 7pm.
Full Circle News Update: We warmly invite you to our Remembrance service which we are holding on Friday 17th May at 7pm. The evening is one of remembrance with the opportunity for everyone to participate, from a flower exchange, bringing a photograph for the memory board or by sharing a poem. Dementia information workshop, Otley, 1st May 2019.
Full Circle News Update: You are warmly invited to a dementia information roadshow afternoon being held on 1st May at The Courthouse in Otley, 1-4pm. It is being hosted by Leeds City Council and it will be an opportunity to hear from and speak to people with experience of living with dementia, health professionals and other service providers local to this area. Project to support older gentlemen with bereavement and grief.
Full Circle News Update: We are delighted to announce that we have a partnered with the Leeds based story telling coaching charity called Lippy People on a project which aims to lift the lid on the silence that there seems to be around talking about dying, death and loss. Full Circle News Update: Thank-you to everyone who kindly brought items into us for the the Otley food bank. Jade and Ruth were delighted to be able to take all the donations down to The Bridge Church in Otley last week, where the church team will distribute the food where there is greatest need. Full Circle News Update: A huge thank-you to the lovely people who have nominated us for a Yorkshire Choice Award in the Customer Service category. Last year we were delighted to be finalists in our category. Could we win this year? With your help, we might just! Being entered for such an award hopefully gives people confidence to know that making funeral choices is available at the time of need and maybe just helps with having the conversation.

Twiddlemuffs for people living with dementia.
Full Circle News Update: Kerry would love to hear from you if you can help us with the making of Twiddlemuffs or if you are an organisation that would like to receive some Twiddlemuffs! People with dementia often have restless hands and like to have something to keep their hands occupied. It provides a wonderful source of visual, tactile and sensory stimulation and at the same time keeping hands snug and warm. These were made for us by two local ladies and we have been able to pass them onto residents of Ghyll Royd and Primrose Court care homes. Full Circle News Update: This beautiful bear has been given to us by ‘Handmade By The Haytons’, a local family business who make memory bears or cushions from clothes of a loved one. We think they are beautiful and a wonderful way to remember someone special to us and are only £15. This little chap also has little pockets for keeping important treasures. Help the Hospice with Crossfit Skipton.
Full Circle News Update: In conjunction with Aireborough Rotary, Dave has been busy putting together the first ever ‘Help the Hospice’ functional fitness fundraising competition. Crossfit Skipton have kindly agreed to lend their space and equipment for the day, with all profits being donated to Manorlands Hospice. The competition will be on Saturday the 13th of April 2019, and is now completely sold out.

Whitaker Firth host Grave Talk cafe – 22nd October, 10am
Full Circle News Update: Guiseley solicitors, Whitaker Firth are hosting a Grave Talk cafe on Monday 22nd October at 10 am at their offices on Springfield Court, Guiseley, LS20 8FD. Grave Talk was launched by The Church of England as a cafe space to have those big conversations around dying, death and funerals in a supported, safe space. Dying Matters Week 2018
Full Circle News Update: Monday 14th May sees the start of Dying Matters week and there will be a number of free events in the Aireborough and Wharfedale area, with the hope to help people feel more able to talk openly about dying, death and bereavement. From Monday to Thursday there are number of different events in Guiseley and Ilkley, and an opportunity to talk to different professionals in a safe space. Full Circle News Update: Friday 13th April saw Jade and Ruth put on their posh frocks and represent Full Circle at the awards ceremony and dinner at Elland Road. Now in it’s third year, the Yorkshire Choice Awards celebrates achievement in Yorkshire – businesses and individuals, whilst raising money for a chosen charity. This year it is St. Gemma’s Hospice. It was a brilliant evening and congratulations to all involved in the organisation. We couldn’t believe our ears when the first finalist called was us !!! 435,000 votes cast across all the categories, 74 businesses in the Independent Business of the Year award and your votes meant that we came in the top 4 !!! On behalf of us all, thank you so much for your support. We couldn’t be more delighted !
