December 2nd – 8th marks National Grief Awareness Week 2022 – a time to recognise the experience of grief and all those that experience it.

As part of National Grief Awareness week a number of events are taking place in and around Leeds.

Friday 2nd December

10am – 12pm, Virgin Money Event Space

Words and Music

Would you like to explore your experience of grief and bereavement through creativity? In collaboration with The Swan Song Project we’re running a Words and Music session at the Virgin Money Event Space in central Leeds. Everyone is welcome, though please reserve your place via Eventbrite. You’ll also find more details of the session on the page as well as some opportunities for further participation.

2pm – 4pm, Guiseley Theatre

Good Grief Guiseley Café

Head on over to Guiseley Theater to join the monthly Good grief Guiseley Cafe. The space is a place to come to join with others that have experienced grief and bereavement. It is a safe space to talk as much or as little about your experience as you would like. No need to book a place, and all are welcome.

Leeds Bereavement Forum AGM

This year is the Leeds Bereavement Forum’s third annual AGM! This year they will be joined by Ellie Harrison who will be sharing her film These Four Walls and experience of creating it.

Continuing Bonds Webinar

It is believed that when someone we care about dies, our relationship with them doesn’t dissolve. Instead, it grows and changes over time. Ruth Owen, one of our independent Funeral Directors will be sharing more about the Continuing Bonds theory of grief, and her experience of facilitating such bonds.
